The Invisalign system handles straightening teeth a bit differently. It is more convenient and comfortable because it is made up of clear aligners that fit right over the teeth. Similar to a teeth-whitening tray, they are easily removed. When you go to eat or drink something, just remove the aligners and put them back in when you are finished. These trays are also clear which means most people cannot see them when they are in your mouth. Smile with comfort and ease knowing you do not have metal in your mouth.
There are a few foods and beverages that should be eaten with care or avoided if the aligners are still in your mouth. Gum should be avoided because it can stick to the aligners. If you drink anything with high sugar content, make sure to drink it in moderation to avoid sugar being trapped between the teeth and the aligner. Smoking should be avoided because it could discolor the aligners and your teeth. Furthermore, cleaning these aligners after eating or drinking is easy. Simply rinse them with lukewarm water.
Once you set up a consultation with our dentist, they will scan your teeth and have custom clear aligners made for you. They will map out your treatment plan and you will be able to see how your teeth will move into place over time. The aligners will be switched out every week or two as your teeth shift. The trays should be worn 20 to 22 hour a day for maximum results. Depending on your needs, your treatment could take up to 12 months. However, you will enjoy healthier teeth and gums as well as an improved smile. Enjoy the convenience of short dentist visits every six weeks or so. No matter what your treatment plan entails, rest assured that you will be able to go about your day without discomfort (as opposed to wearing traditional braces). Have a smile assessment done and see what this system can do for you.
