The effectiveness of teeth whitening strips can vary. The full treatment will obviously change the look. This does, however, depend on the severity of stains and discoloration. It often takes longer to get better results. Where a dentist can quite effectively bleach teeth in one or two visits, the strips may take a week or more to really have their effect.
Take precautions not to overdo it, however. The gel used in these strips can irritate the gums and cause hypersensitivity in teeth. So following the instructions is a must. Results will obviously be prolonged if coffee, cigarettes, and foods that stain aren’t consumed as much. They are relatively inexpensive and rather easy to use. This is a great way to get a quick boost to a smile, but overall won’t give a person half the brightness that professional whitening can.
