What Kids Get From Braces
Improvements to appearance can make kids more confident, but increased comfort and oral health also benefit kids who get braces. In some cases, kid braces also promote better oral development in patients long after they complete treatment.
When Kids Should Get Braces
Children should be examined by age seven to find out if they need braces. When braces are necessary, some kids may benefit from a single course of treatment at around age seven. Some kids may do best with a course of treatment later, during adolescence, while others may need to wear braces once during each time period.
Metal braces are still available and popular among kids, but our dentist may also recommend ceramic or lingual braces for eligible patients who prefer a more discreet experience. Parents can schedule a consultation with Dr. Frame, our Rocklin orthodontist, to find out if their kids need braces and what options are available to them.
