For the most part, Invisalign takes about the same length of time as metal braces, which tends to be between one and two years. But some patients will qualify for a special type of Invisalign known as Invisalign Express. This requires a shorter time commitment since it is only used to correct minor overcrowding or crookedness. With Invisalign Express, you can expect your treatment to last about six months.
You should follow the dentist’s instructions carefully and wear your aligners as often as recommended. You should keep your Invisalign aligners in your mouth for at least 22 hours every day so that your teeth will become straightened in time. This means you can remove them while you eat and while you brush your teeth.
